Artwork
This is a gallery of my personal paintings. I also take commissions for artwork if you would like something personal to you!
Nude (March 2020)
This is based on a series of photographs my friend sent me of her after shower routine. It shows the progression of her getting ready. I used neutral tones for the skin, blending them smoothly together. The first figure is stepping out the shower, getting dressed. She has 1 sock on which is a brighter less natural blue to show this is not pure skin. The middle figure is putting in the earring which you can then see as the last figure turns away to put make up on. The earring is the same bright blue as the sock to show impurity.
Girl in the shower, April 2020
These 2 are based on photographs with the saturation right up. I like how the colours are softly blended into each other so some parts look quite abstract. But the definitive lines amongst the bright colour strokes give the painting structure. You can see the shape of the room, the weird underneath angle. The bottles on the shelf in both are a different style with white shapes and obvious black outlines, meant to contrast the coloured abstract tones. I also like how the water can be seen rushing off the body.
Dragons in the sky, April 2020
This painting comes from a poem I wrote which comes from an experience I had in summer 2018 of this amazing trip. I was lying on my back in the grass with my arms out, really feeling the Earth below me as if I was breathing with the planet. It was night and the stars were out. I could squint my eyes open and closed to make amazing patterns vibrate between each star. I saw electric blue and green triangles pulsing smaller and bigger, and red dragons growing, retracting in formation with the stars and triangles.
Jordan, October 2019
Based off a photograph of Jordan wearing my dressing gown, finishing a joint. I love this painting because it represents such a prominent time of my life, living in Manchester just after dropping out of university (Oct 2018) and not knowing what I was going to do, meeting Jordan and chilling all the time.
